Wir, die Bürgerinitiative „Leipzig Korrektiv“ unterstützen ein vom NGO-Fonds „Swiss fund“ finanziertes und durch die „Bürgerrechtsbewegung für die Republik“ betreutes Hilfsprojekt von Roma im ungarischen Dorf Kálló.
Die Romabevölkerung lebt in Ungarn in großer Armut, ausgegrenzt von gesellschaftlicher Teilhabe und von rassistischer Gewalt betroffen.
Während einer Reise nach Ungarn im Frühjahr diesen Jahres, konnten wir uns selbst von der Situation vor Ort überzeugen. Gleichzeitig lernten wir zahlreiche zivilgesellschaftliche Projekte kennen, mit denen Roma unterstützt und ermutigt werden.
Ein konkretes Vorhaben im Dorf Kálló setzt auf Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe. Es besteht aus vier Komponenten: Mittel & Kompetenzvermittlung zur landwirtschaftlichen Selbstversorgung, Herstellung von Bio-Brickets sowie Nachhilfeunterricht für Kinder:
1. Die DorfbewohnerInnen bekommen kostenfrei Gemüsesamen und legen selbst Bete an. Diese Teil-Selbstversorgung trägt dazu bei, ihre schlechte Versorgungslage zu verbessern.
2. Ergänzend kommt eine landwirtschaftliche Ausbildung hinzu, damit die Menschen in Sachen Pflanzen-Anbau und Kleintierhaltung kompetent gemacht werden.
3. Da wie in anderen von Roma bewohnten Dörfern bzw. Stadtteilen auch in Kálló die Energieversorgung nicht gewährleistet ist, sollen im Rahmen des Projekte außerdem aus brennbarem Material wie zum Beispiel Laub oder Papier mit Hilfe einer Presse „Biobriketts“ für den Winter hergestellt werden. Dazu benötigen die BewohnerInnen eine geeignete Maschine.
4. Die Kinder und Jugendlichen im Dorf bekommen systematischen Nachhilfeunterricht um die Benachteiligung in den Schulen zu überwinden. Wie in anderen EU-Staaten werden Roma-Kinder auch in Ungarn zum großen Teil in Sonderschule für Kinder mit geistiger Beeinträchtigung eingeschult, in denen sie nicht ausreichend gefördert werden.
Das Gesamt-Projekt wird von der Bürgerrechtsbewegung für die Republik getragen und zu 90 % von „Swiss fund“ finanziert. Der Eigenanteil umfasst 900.000 Forint (ca. 3000,- Euro), ein Betrag, den die ehrenamtliche Vereinigung, die sich mit vielen Projekten für Roma einsetzt, nicht allein tragen kann. Wir bitten Sie und euch darum herzlich für das beschriebene Projekt zu spenden um den Eigenanteil zu ermöglichen.
Mit diesem Vorhaben können die BewohnerInnen zumindest eines Dorfes ihrer dramatischen sozialen Lage begegnen. Denn der Ausgrenzung und Diskriminierung von Roma in Ungarn auf politischen Wege zu begegnen scheint ein langer und steiniger Weg.

An appeal for funds for a project initiated by and on behalf of the Roma community in the Hungarian village of Kálló, Nógrád County
“We have often discussed how Roma live. The immediate question put increasingly is whether Roma can live at all.” Gergely Dezideriu (Director of the European Roma Rights Centre)
We, the civil initiative Leipzig Korrektiv, are supporting the aid project for Roma in the Hungarian village of Kálló, initiated by the Civil Rights Movement for the Republic and financed by the NGO Swiss Fund.
The Roma inhabitants of Hungary live in great poverty, excluded from social participation and exposed to racist authority.
We were able, on a visit to Hungary in the spring of this year, to see the situation for ourselves. At the same time we looked into a number of projects launched by civil associations to support and encourage Roma there.
One particular project fosters assistance through self-help in the village of Kálló. It has four components: 1. supplying means and 2. imparting skills for agricultural self-support, 3. manufacturing organic “bio briquettes” for heating, and 4. offering coaching for schoolchildren.
1. Villagers taking part receive free sowing seed to grow fruit and vegetables for themselves. This act of partial self-help brings some improvement in their poor food-supply situation.
2. This is augmented by a course of agricultural training to raise their competence in crop farming and the keeping of small livestock.
3. Kálló is among the many Roma-inhabited villages and urban districts where the problem of winter heating is not solved. The project involves the collection of combustible materials such as leaf litter, brush or paper and using a press to turn it into “bio briquettes” for the winter. This requires a dedicated piece of machinery.
4. The children and young adults of the village are receiving systematic after-school coaching to overcome their disadvantages in school. As in other EU countries, many Roma children in Hungary are being unjustifiably diverted into schooling for those with a mental disability.
The whole project is being coordinated by the Civil Rights Movement for the Republic and 90 per cent financed by the Swiss Fund. The self-contribution amounts to HUF 900,000 (about €3000), which the coordinating organization, having a great many Roma projects in hand, cannot find. Therefore we are asking you kindly to donate to the project described here, so that it becomes possible for the self-contribution to be made.
This project will allow the inhabitants of one village at least to combat their dramatic social position. For there appears to be a long and stony path ahead before the segregation of Roma in Hungary and the discrimination against them can be resolved by political means.

„Korábban arról vitatkoztunk, hogyan élnek a romák, ma az a kérdés: élnek a romák?“ (Gergely Dezideriu, az European Roma Rights Centre igazgatója).
Mi, a polgári kezdeményezés „Leipzig Korrektiv“ támogatjuk az NGO-Fond Swiss-Fund által finanszírozott és a Polgárjogi Mozgalom a Kötársaságért által támogatott Segélyprogram romák számára elnevezésű projektet, a magyarországi Kálló nevő faluban.
A roma népesség Magyarországon nagy szegénységben él, a társadalom peremére kirekesztve, rasszista erőszaknak kitéve.
Egy magyarországi útunk során ez év tavaszán,magunk is meggyőződhettünk a helyzetről. Ezzel egy időben megismerkedtünk számos civilszervezeti projekttel, amelyeka romákat támogatják és ösztönzik.
Ez a konkrét projekt Kállóban a „segíts magadon, Isten is megsegít“ gondolatot veszi alapul.
Ennek négy komponense van:
Eszközök és szaktudás mezőgazdasági önellátáshoz, biobrikett gyártása és iskolás gyerekek korrepetálása.
1.) A falu lakói ingyenes vetőmagokat kapnak, amit maguk vetnek majd el. Ez a része az önellátásnak hozzájárul maj az élelmezés megjavitásához
2.) Ezen kívül mezőgazdasági szakképzést is kapnak, igy megtanulják a növénytermesztést és a kisállattenyésztést.
3.) Mivel a falvakban, ahol a romák élnek, így Kállón is, az energia-ellátás nincs megoldva, ezért a projekt keretében a résztvevők megtanulják a biobrikett készítését. Ezt pl. lombból, papírból, egy gép segítségével kell csinálni.
4.) A falu gyermekei rendszeres korrepetálásban részesülnek majd, ezzel segítve az iskolában meglévő hátrányos helyzetük legyőzését. Magyarországon,mint más EU-országokban is, a lemaradt romagyerekeket egyszerüen átteszik egy speziálisan szellemi fogyatékosok számára étrehozott iskola-fajtába. Igy aztán soha nem tudják behozni a lemaradást!
A teljes projektet a Polgári Mozgalom a Köztársaságért támogatja és 90%-ban a Swiss-Fund financirozza. A saját rész 900.000 Ft (ca.3000 €) , egy összeg, melyet az önkéntességre alapozott Egyesület, amely több romákat segítő projektet támogat, nem tud egyedül viselni. Ezért kérünk szívből mindenkit, aki teheti, adakozzon ennek a projektnek a javára , a saját rész financirozását így segíteni. Ezzel a projektel legalább egy falu lakóinak életén tudunk javítani, hiszen a romák kirekesztésének és diszkriminációjának politikai úton történő változtatása Magyarországon hosszú és köves útnak látszik! Kérjük segítsetek, hogy mi is segíthessünk!
